Amy Purdy book signing at Mall of America®
WHAT: Amy Purdy, double-amputee, Olympic champion, author and dancer, will visit Mall of America® on Saturday, January 10 to sign copies of her new book On My Own Two Feet.
After having both legs amputated below the knee following a battle with bacterial meningitis, Purdy made the decision to turn her story into inspiration for people around the world.
Since then, she has won a bronze medal in snowboarding in the 2014 Winter Paralympics, competed and became season 18s runner up on Dancing with the Stars, and recently wrote her first book, On My Own Two Feet.
Also among her accomplishments, Purdy recently toured with Oprah Winfrey to share her story as part of Oprahs The Life You Want Tour. She co-founded Adaptive Action Sports, a non-profit organization that helps those with permanent disabilities get involved in action sports that has partnered with ESPN to run adaptive competitions at the summer and winter ESPN X Games.
