10th annual HandsOn Twin Cities Volunteer Expo at Mall of America® to highlight 90 non-profit organizations
WHAT: HandsOn Twin Cities is hosting its 10th annual Volunteer Expo at Mall of America® on Saturday, February 14 in the Rotunda.
Guests are invited to interact with representatives from 90 area non-profit organizations to learn how to get involved with the community.
10 organizations will have speed volunteering activities available throughout the day to give guests a glimpse at the work they can do for a non-profit, including:
- Alliance Housing Inc.: Assemble welcome kits of cleaning supplies for low-income families in North Minneapolis receiving housing aid
- Bundles of Love: Trace patterns for baby clothes for families with infants in need
- Loaves and Fishes: Create snack packs for after school programs
- Hope 4 Youth: Make survival kits for youth experiencing homelessness
At 1 p.m. an award ceremony will be held to recognize volunteers from the community who have shown exemplary service and commitment in two categories: youth and education or economy and basic needs.
HandsOn Twin Cities is the nations first volunteer center with 95 years of experience promoting and facilitating meaningful volunteerism, education and leadership development in the Twin Cities metro area.
