City of Minneapolis
Filming in any public area within the city of Minneapolis requires an obstruction permit from the City. Filming requests should be made:
- City of Minneapolis obstruction permits (barricades, satellite truck parking permits, portable toilets): Scott Kramer, Public Works 612-673-2383
- City of Minneapolis production permits (filming in the city): www.minneapolis.mn.roway.net - This is the city’s Right-of-Way Permitting system; you must create an account first, and then request the permit for the days and locations you wish to shoot video or photography.

Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board
Filming requests for city parks, lakes, the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden and the Mississippi Riverfront should be directed to the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board. Information is available at https://www.minneapolisparks.org/rentals__permits/photography__filming_permits/ and further questions can be directed to 612-230-6400.
The Commons (Park adjacent to U.S. Bank Stadium)
Filming at The Commons requires separate permitting. Please visit https://www.commonsmpls.com/ru... to view rules and apply for access to the permitting information.
Minneapolis Convention Center
Events at the Minneapolis Convention Center manage their own media and filming requests; you may contact the event directly by looking for it on the Minneapolis Convention Center Event Calendar and clicking on the event for more information or website link. Photography in the public areas at the Convention Center should be requested ahead of time by contacting the Public Relations team. Satellite truck parking should be arranged in advance by contacting the event organizer for rented event spaces or the Public Relations team for public spaces.

Any satellite truck not parked in a legal parking space requires an obstruction permit from the City. Parking requests should be made to the City media line at 612-673-3763. Parking requests for city parks, lakes, the Walker/Minneapolis Sculpture Garden and Mississippi Riverfront should be directed to the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board at 612-230-6400.

PRESS RISERS / BARRICADES / PORTABLE TOILETS

Risers, barricades, and portable toilets placed in a public area require an obstruction permit from the City. Requests should be made to the City media line at 612-673-3763. Minneapolis 311 Service
Minneapolis 311 is part of an ongoing effort to make the City more accessible to residents and visitors.
