Top Things to Do in Minneapolis this March
Spring is on its way and we couldn't be happier. Between big name concerts, new art exhibits, public shows at the convention center and basketball season, there isn't a shortage of things to do. Here are our picks for the top things to do this March!
1. Sauna festival @ Forgotten Star
March 1 & 2
Come enjoy 75-minute wood-fired sauna sessions for a back lot party at Forgotten Star Brewing Co featuring 6+ saunas, beer poking, a vendor shopping market, yoga, food, and more! At the Sauna & Sips Festival you will enjoy a series of sauna rounds cycling between the heat of the sauna and a cool-down of your choice (the winter air, a snow angel, or an ice-cold bucket of water over your head!)
2. Life of Pi
March 4-9
Based on the popular novel, Life of Pie comes to the stage. After a shipwreck in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, a sixteen-year-old boy named Pi survives on a lifeboat with four companions—a hyena, a zebra, an orangutan and a Royal Bengal tiger.
3. Minneapolis Home and Garden Show
March 5-9
The Minneapolis Home + Garden Show will bring gorgeous gardens, the innovative Idea Home, and more than 500 exhibits to the Minneapolis Convention Center.
4. Disturbed at Target Center
March 6
“The Sound of Silence” and “Down With The Sickness” band Disturbed is coming to Target Center for “The Sickness 25th Anniversary Tour” with special guests Three Days Grace and Sevendust.
5. Ways of Knowing
Starting March 8
Spanning drawing, photography, film, and installation, Ways of Knowing at the Walker Art Center, charts some of the most profound ways that today’s artists engage with information and research. Most works are being shown in the United States for the first time and the exhibit features 11 different artists.
6. Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys
Starting March 8
“Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys” is a groundbreaking exhibition that marks the first major showcase of the Dean Collection, owned by renowned musicians and cultural icons Swizz Beatz (Kasseem Dean) and Alicia Keys. Organized by the Brooklyn Museum, “Giants” can be seen at the Minneapolis Arts Institute and highlights nearly 100 significant works by Black diasporic artists, including Gordon Parks, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Lorna Simpson, Amy Sherald, and more.
7. Kumail Nanjiani
March 8
See comedian, Kumail Nanjiani live as he brings his Doing This Again comedy tour to the Pantages Theatre.
8. Northwest Sportshow
March 13-16
The Midwest’s largest outdoors show, the Northwest Sportshow, makes its return to the Minneapolis Convention Center. Find inspiration for all outdoor adventures – both big and small – and peruse favorite travel destination or sales on the newest products and accessories for fishing, hunting, camping, boating and more.
9. Harlem Globtrotters
March 15
The Harlem Globetrotters are back in action at Target Center showing off their skills against the Washington Generals.
10. Jurassic Quest
March 15-17
Walk with larger-than-life dinosaurs as Jurassic Quest comes to the Minneapolis Convention Center, featuring a 60 foot long, sky-scraping Spinosaurus, an 80 foot long Apatosaurus, and the gigantic LIFESIZE T.rex!
11. Minnesota State High School Basketball Tournament
March 18 & 20
See the most talented basketball players in the state at The 2025 Minnesota State High School League Boys Basketball Tournament which will take place at Target Center.
12. Taylor Tomlinson
March 20-22
Taylor Tomlinson will perform her Save Me Tour for three days and four shows at the Orpheum Theatre.
13. Kid Rock
March 22
“Picture” and “All Summer Long” singer Kid Rock is coming to Target Center with special guest Chris Janson.
14. Geekcraft Expo
March 22-23
The Geekcraft Expo is a curated craft market featuring handmade geek goods by local crafters and makers.
15. Matt Rife
March 23
Comedian and actor, Matt Rife brings his "Stay Golden Tour" to Target Center.
16. Watch a Minnesota Timberwolves Game at Target Center
It's time for basketball and the Minnesota Timberwolves have their eyes set on another record year with Anthony Edwards, Rudy Gobert and Naz Reid leading the way. Come out to Target Center and cheer them on.
