Ofrenda – a new opera workshop
ORP’s FIRST NEW OPERA READING will feature the official piano-vocal workshop of Jorge Sosa and John De Los Santos’ new opera, Ofrenda. This “Dia de Muertos” story features an encounter with Death itself, which forces our opera’s heroine to grapple with the consequences of wielding power over life and death.
We are excited to give you this look behind the curtain and invite our audience into the development process before this opera comes to life on stage.
The cast will feature local singers Victoria Vargas, Jill Morgan, Madison Holtze, Andrew Wilkowske, and Jess Felton; with music direction by Lara Bolton and piano accompaniment by Jordan Buchholtz.
