Baroque Tango: Rhythms of Desire, Longing and Passion
The Bach Society of Minnesota continues to expand the boundaries of classical music with its next installment of the Outside the Box series, a musical collaboration featuring Tango with artistic partners, the Charles Gorczynski Tango Quartet. “Baroque Tango: Rhythms of Desire, Longing and Passion” will be performed Saturday, November 23 at 4:00pm at 480 Arts in North Saint Paul. The concert will bring together two very different musical languages - the richness of Baroque and the sensuality of Tango - to create a magical performance. The unique production was created by Bach Society of Minnesota’s Associate Artistic Director Marco Real-d’Arbelles and Charles Gorczynski of Twin Cities-based Charles Gorczynski Tango Quartet. The two ensembles will play pieces individually as groups, and together as a mixed ensemble, with music by Baroque and tango masters including Corelli, Vivaldi, Pugliese, and Piazzolla.
