Going Beyond the Call of Duty
The most recent Meet Minneapolis team member to take on the industry volunteer service calling is our Director of Brand Strategy, Beth Helle. She assumes a board spot on the U.S. Travel Association Destinations Council. The Destinations Council represents more than 500 U.S. Travel Association destination marketing organization (DMO) and convention and visitors bureau (CVB) members, whose purpose is to enhance the effectiveness of DMO professionals through the annual program of work created by the Destinations Council’s Board of Directors.
Madonna Carr is our VP of Destination Services. Madonna has served as a board member of the Event Service Professionals Association (ESPA) for a number of years but took on the volunteer role of president at the organization's annual convention in Vancouver earlier this year. ESPA is dedicated to elevating the event and convention service profession and to preparing members, through education and networking, for their pivotal role in innovative and successful event execution.
Another of our team members who has taken on an additional role is Bill Deef. Bill is our SVP of Public Affairs and is embarking on his second term as Airport Foundation MSP's treasurer. The foundation is a key partner of the Metropolitan Airports Commission which directly manages the operations of our award-winning airport. The Airport Foundation MSP dedicates itself to enhancing the experience and exceeding the expectations of travelers at MSP International Airport, as well as supporting the airport and broader aviation community.
Volunteer service to organizations that can help Meet Minneapolis achieve its objectives extends the value that we bring to our stakeholders. Please join me in thanking Beth, Madonna and Bill as well as all of the Meet Minneapolis team members who go beyond the call of duty.
